Advancing Quantum Collaboration: From California to Copenhagen

NQCP Life

In late May, we at NQCP had the pleasure of hosting a delegation of 11 esteemed quantum researchers from Berkeley Lab in California here in Copenhagen. This visit served as the kickoff for our joint Network on Evolving Quantum Technology (NEQT).

During the week-long event, project partners and guests engaged in lab visits, workshops, and discussions, all aimed at exploring and expanding collaboration opportunities to advance various aspects of quantum computing. The event provided a ground for the exchange of innovative ideas and deep dives into critical topics in quantum computing such as:

  • Algorithms and Applications
  • Benchmarking Protocols
  • Control Systems and Co-design
  • High-Performance Computing (HPC)
  • Materials for Quantum Computing
  • Fabrication Process Design
  • Quantum Education
  • Entrepreneurship and Commercialization

The lively exchange of ideas and knowledge during the event showed once again the collaborative spirit within the quantum research community. We look forward to continuing this cross-Atlantic collaboration, which promises to drive significant advancements in the field of  quantum technology.

It has been a highly inspiring and fruitful week in Copenhagen sharing insights and ideas on next generation quantum technologies with likeminded peers at the birthplace of Quantum Physics. At Berkeley Lab we are excited to strengthen our ties to the NQCP team and the broader Danish quantum ecosystem and look forward to continuing this collaboration”

About the Network on Evolving Quantum Technology (NEQT)

The NEQT is facilitated by Innovation Centre Denmark Silicon Valley and funded by the Uddannelses- og Forskningsministeriet in Denmark through the Global Innovation Network Programme. This collaboration brings together distinguished partners from the NNF Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP), Quantum Foundry Copenhagen at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, Berkeley Lab, BioInnovation Institute (NATO DIANA), and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Through this network, we aim to foster groundbreaking research, development, and commercialization in the quantum technology sector, bridging the gap between innovation and practical applications.
