NQCP Retreat 2025
In September, we held our annual NQCP Retreat in Helsingør. The NQCP team, together with Quantum Foundry, took a deep dive into our structure and progress, shared updates from each team, and explored the latest developments in project data workflows. These two days strengthened our bonds and re-energized us in our shared mission toward achieving fault-tolerant quantum computing.

On the 25th and 26th of September, we had our yearly NQCP Retreat at Helsingør. The NQCP team, including Quantum Foundry, gathered once again at Marienlyst Strandhotel for a two day agenda focusing on covering our progress, get to know each other´s work better and remind ourselves of our common mission. This year’s program offered a blend of insightful discussions, hands-on project showcases, and energizing social activities in the unique setting by the sea.
Over these two days, we delved into the structure and progress of both the Quantum Foundry and the wider NQCP team, shared updates about the current status of each team, and explored the latest advances in project data workflows. Dedicated sessions focused on internal team structures, project frameworks, and workplace culture, providing everyone with an opportunity to connect and align on our collective mission.
The retreat included dynamic poster pitches and a poster session where teams presented their ongoing work, fostering lively discussion and deeper understanding across projects. Andrea Sommer Eriksen received the prize for the best poster, although all the posters had been carefully prepared and gathered very precious updates to reach our mission. Special industry perspectives were contributed by Asger Jensen from NKT Photonics, who highlighted market-driven product development in quantum technologies.
But not all the time was science-focused, we also had time to enjoy a variety of outdoor and wellness activities. Thursday’s free time saw colleagues joining runs, beach volleyball, kayak outings, improv theater, walks around Kronborg and human towers, taking full advantage of the beautiful surroundings and the great weather. Thursday evening was reserved for informal connections dinner and a fireside gathering at the beach with a playful dress code. Also, on Friday we could enjoy spa access, which gave us another opportunity to unwind. These moments were essential for building camaraderie and team spirit.
By stepping away from the everyday routines of our offices and labs in Copenhagen, we strengthened our bonds, gained fresh inspiration, and reaffirmed our shared commitment. The energy from Marienlyst now carries us forward as we pursue new milestones together in fault-tolerant quantum computing.
