Theory & Simulation

The Team

Our team explores the theory and simulation aspects of robust quantum information processing in platforms such as semiconductor-based nanostructures and superconducting circuits. We elaborate on advanced methods combining theoretical models and accurate numerical simulations from the atomic to the full device scale. Predictive capabilities are intended to inform fabrication and experimental progress and also help gaining insight on the physics of the actual devices and materials.

Our Focus: From Materials to Quantum Fault-Tolerance

We aim at designing schemes for fault-tolerant quantum computation in integrated quantum chips. Based on elaborated insight on the materials that constitute the devices, we investigate addressable quantum-coherent components, as well as efficient interconnects and frameworks enabling the desired fault-tolerant functionalities.

Our Collaborators

In addition to working closely with colleagues in the other teams at NQCP, we maintain strong links with centers of the Niels Bohr Institute that include Quantum Devices (QDev) and Hybrid Quantum Networks (HyQ). We are also actively involved in the Copenhagen scientific environment and with NQCP partners worldwide.
